6 APRIL 2015

Hey family.

Man. It feels SOO good to get that lame school stuff out the way. Now I don't have to worry about it. It sounds like you all had a blast in England! Hows the family doing? Everyone looks so old in the pictures! It's so weird haha.

This week was super hectic. We had so many meetings! I think I've already told you how much I hate meetings right? Man. But it was good! We had cool things happening. We went around talking to everyone about Because He Lives - the new video the church put out, and seemed to have a lot of success. We found tons of new investigators. My favourite was a guy named Fransisco. Elder Wilkes wanted to go see a potential and honestly I didn't really feel like going haha. we went by, and she wasn't home, but her brother was. So we shared a message with him (he's 18). He said he got the chills in the lesson. We told him that was the Spirit and invited him to be baptized. So he said  he would on the 26th of April. It was pretty cool. He prayed at the end of the lesson and then when he finished was like "can I do that at night before I go to bed?". We told him no obviously. It was funny. And super spiritual. It was just a cool moment. Moments like that make me not want to ever stop. It's so cool.

We also are working with Fernando - the grandson of a member. We went over, and originally the mum said she wants him baptized in June, so we talked to her about it. She said he can get baptized this upcoming Saturday. So he came to conference with us and got his interview done! Just pray all works out well for the baptism this week!

It was cool too. After conference on Sunday we got invited over for lunch by some members, the Bowers, in the English ward I used to serve in - because it's the same area. We went over and our recent converts were there - Martha, Maria, Irma, Gabby, and Adriana and Emily. It was super cool to see them all again. I really love that family a lot.

But yeah! Keep up the good work back home. That's awesome Jake that you're "friend" Lindsey is taking the discussions. How does she feel about church, baptism, etc. Does she go at all with you? Also has she talked to her mum about baptism yet?

I hope you're all good from the jet lag. Doesn't sound fun that you guys have to get back to school/work. I bet you're all swamped with stuff to do.

Dad. My favourite talk was those two as well. And I really liked the one afterwards by Pres. Uchtdorf on grace. They were all super spiritual. And yeah! I thought that was nuts that some people opposed the prophet. I was hoping something was gonna go down! The rest of it was really good too. I really liked the talks at conference. I feel like Pres. Monson's sick though - he didn't talk much. I always feel bad though. By the last session of conference I'm spiritually drained haha and I don't get as much as I would like out. Love ya! Goodluck at work!

Mum! I hope you recover from jet lag quick! The area's going great. Super busy all the time. Which is good. Everything else is going well too! Just praying for some miracles to happen with our investigators. Conference was way good. As they say. I loved it. How is it having the missionaries teach in the home? What are they like? It's cool everyone's being a missionary. That's what it's all about. Love you mum!

Pete! Thanks dude for helping me out on all the school stuff. I know I kind of put pressure to help me out, and I know you're probably super busy. But thanks. It should be all good now! I'm sorry school's been so stressful. When is it over? The end of this month right? Hopefully all your tests go well dude. Good luck. When will you know about your green card? Love you dude! As well when will you find out about you interviews if you got into the program?

Char and Jake! hope you guys are doing well. You guys both look like models. Keep it up. Love you!

Kenna and Izaac! Hope you guys had fun in England! You look so old! Love you guys!

ANYWAYS. Have a good week getting back into things. Hopefully it all goes well. And if it doesn't, just remember Christ is with you, so it's okay.

Love you all!

30 MARCH 2015

Hey family!

Hope everything's going well. I can't really write much today. I had to do more school stuff. Lame. (seriously like the most inconvenient thing) Things are going well down here. We had a really great week. We found a lot of new investigators - Fernando is one of them. He'll be baptized on the 12th of April. We're really excited.

Also I basically used a magazine for a couple of days for a brace - until we could find time to go buy a real one for my ankle. It's pretty ghetto. But that's the missionary life I guess.

Anyways. Love you all. Hopefully things are going well in England or wherever you are. And I hope Grandad's feeling better. Tomenlo con calma!

23 MARCH 2015

Hey Fam! Hope all goes well in England. Looks like you're all having a blast. I can't really talk because I am figuring all my classes out for school!! Joy! I forgot what a headache that stuff is hahaha.

Things went well this week. We went to the temple which was amazing. It was really spiritual. And we're working with a lady named Claudia - hopefully she will get baptized soon!! She just needs to get married. Unfortunately Yvette's baptism got set back due to some complications. But that's okay we'll work through it. Just keep praying for them. We have a lot of good things set up this week.

Also I twisted my ankle playing soccer today. Lame.

Hope all is going well back home. Love you all. Hopefully Grandad gets out of the hospital soon! Definitely will be praying for him.

OH. Also Abraham got baptized this week. I got to go back for it. And his dad was the one that did it. That was so cool to see. Love you all!

16 MARCH 2015

Hey. Charly. Happy Birthday. I totally remembered it was your birthday yesterday. I promise. But it was Sunday so alas I could not write you. And happy birthday to you dad! Next week hey? What is that your 57th? Happy 57th birthday! Sounds like everyone had a busy and stressful week.

And to hear about Grandad. Man. I'm glad he's okay though... how long will he be in the hospital for? How did they find out? That's hard about them not going to Mexico though.

Dad! Sounds like you had a blast in Mexico. Everything seemed to fall apart when you left apparently. How was it leaving the work team behind? I love Mexico so much. I think the culture is so cool. I'm so jealous you guys got to go. It sounds like you had a blast. How's Mike Nelson and the family doing now? That's awesome about Jojo. I hope all is going well with him. He's such a nice man. And also I'm offended about you comment about temples. I'm so glad Tanner came back. My goal is getting him on a mission. I love him a lot. And yeah God keeps sending me back! Which is okay because I love this area so much. Love you Dad! Keep it real.

Mum! That under the sea experience sounds pretty tight. I had a dream last night about how all these crazy animals were chasing us. And we filmed it. It was crazy. What was your favourite part of Mexico? That's crazy about Tanner. I'm glad he's coming back. I miss Tanner a lot. I hope he gets back on track. Ah. How did Mitchell respond to Grandad inviting him to get baptized haha.? It sounds like everyone is doing so well with the missionary efforts. I'm so proud of everyone. That's so awesome! Also, before I forget, I had a question about school. Do I need endorsements or signing up or anything to get that ready. I talked to Moss or Ethan today. I don't exactly know what's up. He said he got a job on the opposite side of campus which is the only thing holding him back. If he can't that's okay, I will make other friends. also I have other friends there.  Love you Mum! You're the best.

Peter! Hopefully all goes well with Courtney's new job. Let me know. How are things for you mate? It must be weird being married hey? It's weird I have a married brother. Keep doing well in school. That's so awesome. God's blessed you a ton. Yeah I hope to see you in Canada too. It'll be good to catch up after 4 years ;). How often do you guys go to the temple? Love you man.

Charly. Happy Birthday again you punk. I remember when I was 17. It's so weird to think you're growing up. How was it. What did you get? So I heard Mitchell went to church this week with you? What's the boy situation like for you? How is he taking everything? Love you keep it up!
Jake. I heard you made the badminton team. Nice job! You're on fire. How are things going in regards to school like with grades and everything? Hope all is going well. How are things with church, seminary and all that. Write me back fool. Love you, and keep up the good work!
Kenna and Izaac, you guys are the best!

Hope everyone has a good time in England!

This week was great. It was weird getting doubled in again. But it was good because I know the area pretty well and know a lot of the members. yesterday at church they all came up to me and were surprised I came back. They thought I'd already finished my mission hahaha. I love this ward a lot. It's really awesome.

We had a good week. We taught a lot of lessons and are trying to make things happen. We are teaching this one girl named Yvette. She's 10 and is the granddaughter of some members. She's really cool. She didn't come to church this week because her dad took her out, but she's getting baptized on the 29th. We're super excited for her. She's cool.

We also are teaching someone named Elias. He's pretty cool. He's the husband of a recent convert. He's come to church in the past. We went over the first night and had a good discussion with him and he told us he'll be baptized within the next couple months. We'll get him earlier though haha. He came to church on Sunday. He's really cool.

Also we are teaching a guy named Diego. He's pretty cool. He's 10. His whole family are members, we're just waiting on permission from the Dad. He's going over today to talked to him. Hopefully he'll be baptized soon! Pray for them.

It's great because I share the exact same building that I had when I was in English ward. I get to see all my recent converts and it's an awesome feeling. I love it so much. I really love all the things going on here. It's so cool. I'm excited too because this week I get to go back to a baptism for Abraham on Wednesday. Also my old investigators from my last area are still progressing well. So for that I'm super grateful. I'm around my old companion Elder Thurman too. He's training in the stake. It's awesome.

Anyways. Things are going great. I love this work a lot. Nothing has made me happier. Hope all is well back home! Keep it up. The church is true and it's the best! Love you guys.

9TH MARCH 2015

Hey family. So this week was really awesome! It was really sad though.
Dad. Why are you guys in Mexico again? Just for vacation? Super jealous by the way! Mexico is way nice. What part are you at? I feel like you guys just decided to get in as many vacations as you could before I got back. I get it. Yeah I'm super proud of Jakob too! It's so awesome to see my siblings being better missionaries than most full time haha. Yeah we had some at church. we had 4 investigators in total. Things have really picked up in this area. The last baptism in this area besides Leonel was about a year ago. So we're really excited so see it going again. Love you dad! Hope all is well!
Mum! Hope all is going well in Mexico. That's awesome about the temple. How many temples are in Preston. How long are you guys planning to stay over there? What's the plan? How long are you guys in Mexico for? And hey, my hair was a precious gift. I'm sure Sampson was kind of annoyed too when Delilah cut his.... I think I had a right. It's so cool that Jake's being a missionary. I'm glad the Elders there are cool. I remember that I never did that. And I wish I did. It would've prepared me so much.
Peter! hope all is going well my brother! Love you dude, keep it real in school! Love you man!
Charly! That's cool. What happened to Mitchell? You player. I hope all is going well. I love Brother Matthews. He was so awesome. I hope he's doing good. Glad you got my letter. Love you a lot Charly! You're the best! Thanks for being the best! Love you!!
Jake! That's awesome that you're sharing the gospel. I think that's so important! How are things going? When do tryouts end? How's school? Work? I hope all goes with the missionaries. You better be a missionary man. You would be a great missionary!! Love you!
Kenna and Izaac. Keep it up! Love you guys to death. Keep it up and have a good week!

So. We knew it was our last week together. So we decided to go as hard as we could. Our goal was 70 lessons. We didn't reach that. Like not really even close. But that's okay. We had the best week together as far as lessons and what not go. It was awesome. We did a lot of splits. I was so proud of Elder Gibson, he set everything up for the week.
It was sad too. We got the calls on Saturday. Elder Gibson was assigned to be a district leader. Which is awesome because that never happens for Spanish missionaries after 3 months of being trained. He's a stud. I'm really glad I got to serve with him. We've had a blast. He's gonna be a super great missionary. He already is. I'm going to La Sierra in De Anza ward. Hahaha that was the ward I was born in. And when I was in English is was the exact same area I'm covering now, but just in English. I share the same building as my old ward. I'm so happy in that sense. It's a great ward. I think I have some unfinished business there. I'm a zone leader again. My companion's named is Elder Wilkes. He's a super cool missionary. He's really young so I'm super excited to be with him.
This week was cool because we had some super improvements with the Trinidad family. Basically we had a really bomb lesson with them with an Hermano in the ward. Hermano Ruiz. We watched finding faith and Christ and talked about it. It was really spiritual. The dad was crying. They went to church again this week and Gabriel and Wendy came to a baptism afterwards. It was a very spiritual baptism. It was great.
We also spent a lot of time teaching Abraham. He's getting for sure baptized on the 18th. We announced it in church yesterday. We're so excited. He's so cool. He has a bunch of animals and we were playing with them last time we went over. It was great. He's a cool guy. His dad is getting active again which is awesome.
Also with John who came back from Columbia we had a bomb lesson. We went to teach about the word of wisdom. He's dropped drugs, alcohol, smoking. He struggles with coffee. We talked about it was him. Halfway through the lesson we asked him if he even wants to stop. He said no. It was weird because as soon as he said that, the Spirit entered in super strong. He told us his concerns, about how he feels separated from God, and by the end of the lesson he just looked broken and he looked up and was like, I need to stop. It was super powerful. He hasn't had coffee since then. Super proud of him.
So all in all I'm super sad to leave this area. There were a lot of cool people that I met. I'm so glad I got to come here and serve with Elder Gibson. It's been awesome. The church is super true. Keep it real.
Elder Blomfield.
Ps. I'll send more pictures next week of all the things we did. I forgot my camera.

This is the Ruiz family. They're tight.
